Nate ~ Two Months

Nate,
  You are two months old today! For 62 days you have been a part of our lives and I cannot imagine our family without you in it! In so many ways you remind me of your sister at this stage, but in so many ways you are also such an individual. Just like your sister you are a relaxed and laid back baby, not much ruffles your feathers. Unlike your sister, you love to cuddle. Your sister was always content to sit and watch the world around her, you are happy to be held close.

This month was easier than the last, as I am sure will be the trend from here on out. We have established our daily routines and I am nervous about having to start that over when I return to work in three weeks. So, until then, I will enjoy each and every moment at home with you and your sister.

Milestones: You are smiling and cooing! And not just those little sleepy smiles you like to do right after you eat and are drifting off to sleep. You are giving great big gummy smiles in reaction to us. It is the best feeling when I am talking to you and get a big smile in return. I would do anything to get that smile.

Loves: Your swing. If you are not being held then you are swinging away in your swing. You are content sitting in there whether it is moving or not! If you are sleepy or upset (which does not happen often) I can sit you in your swing, give you your pacifier, and you are a happy baby!

Hates: Shots. I know this is a no-brainer, what baby doesn't hate shots? You had your first set of shots this month and it threw you for a loop. Each time your sister had to get shots I could count on her sleeping for the remainder of the day, which is what I expected with you. Well, you probably would have slept if you hadn't been so uncomfortable. You cried and cried when we got home, which is not like you. I knew, when even your beloved swing didn't calm you down, that you were out of sorts. We got through the day, but you were not a happy camper.

Weight and Height: At your 2 month checkup you weighed in at 9 pounds, 14 ounces and were 20 inches long!
