The Land of Lights

Every year around Christmas there is a park close by that gets decked out in lights. I am talking covered in them! The trees are covered trunk to top, the ground has standing and sometimes moving lighted figures and reindeer. There are strands draped from tree to tree and from the trees to the ground. When you look up, down, or around all you see are Chrsitmas lights! As an adult, I get lost in the twinkiling while walking through, so I can only imagine how the kids feel.

This was our second year going to the park. Last year, we went with family and took our then 10 month old Autumn. Looking back, Autumn was so little. She had just started showing signs of walking and didn't really know what to make of all of the different colored lights surrounding her. This year could not have been more different!

Autumn loves Christmas lights! She stares intently out the car window whenever we are driving around town at night, waiting for the next house or buisness to appear that has lights hanging for her viewing pleasure. She will say, "Again, Again" until the next set of lights appear. So I knew she was going to be beside herself when we took her into the "Land of Lights". She loved every minute of it, with the exception of me asking her to sit still for pictures!

She ran around from decoration to decoration wanting to touch all of the lights and letting everyone know what color they were. I loved seeing her excitement and watching her eyes dart from one direction to the next, unsure of where to look first! It is true, each year it gets better and better!
