DIY Initial Frame

 04 September 2011

I am not what you would call the arts and crafts type. But along with working on my culinary skills (see here, here and here) I have decided to try my hand at a few do-it-yourself projects. Simple ones, of course (I am a beginner!)

I was inspired by this pin I found on Pinterest. Seemed easy enough and once done would make a cute addition to Autumn's room!

I started with a plain wooden letter "A",  a small can of white spray paint, four sheets of patterned scrapbook paper and a picture frame. The frame I chose is 14 x 18, I plan to hang this above Autumn's crib so I chose something a little bigger.

I spray painted the "A" white and let dry (took about 30 minutes to dry).

While the "A" was outside drying, I glued the scrapbook paper to the back of the picture frame.

Once both the letter and the paper were dry, I glued the white "A" onto the scrapbook paper on the back of the picture frame. I removed the white matting and glass and slide the back into the frame.

Voila! The finished project is a monogram to hang above Autumn's crib!
