"Do not Google this" ~ The Update

 19 October 2012

Two days ago I visited the Maternal-Fetal specialist for a follow-up appointment from Nate's last growth scan. Unlike the first appointment, I was flying solo for this one. Autumn had a doctor's appointment scheduled for the same morning with her pediatrician, so Steve was busy taking her to that.

As much as I kept reassuring myself, I was nervous. I kept thinking, "What if he hasn't grown enough?" "What if it's bad news and I'm here alone?" "What if they find something that they didn't see the first time around?"

As usual, I was worrying for nothing.

Nate is currently 2 pounds, 3 ounces and in the 54th percentile. As the doctor put it, "He is perfectly average!" All of his measurements were in the normal range and all of his organs are still checking out perfectly. He is doing so well that the doctor said he did not need to see me back for a follow up visit as he does not feel that the SUA is affecting Nate negatively.

I could not have gotten better news!

While this is still being considered a "high risk pregnancy", knowing that Nate is getting what he needs to thrive and grow is such a weight lifted off my shoulders.

I am now determined to sit back and enjoy these last 12 weeks of pregnancy, as stress free as possible. Well, as stress fee as you can be with a 2 1/2 year old!
