To compromise with Autumn's need to feed herself and my obsessive-compulsive tendencies we have been serving her a lot of finger food options for dinner. One of Autumn's favorite finger foods is corn and this is often included in her weekly dinners.
Also included in most meals are our two "food-deprived" dogs who patiently sit below Autumn's high chair, waiting for their portion of the meal to fall, or more commonly, be tossed their way. Steve and I have noticed that there is a distinct difference in the amount of food that Autumn eats when the dogs are not there, begging, as opposed to when they are. Due to this we have begun conveniently scheduling the dogs "outside time" during Autumn's meals.
Well, apparently this evening Autumn did not get the memo that her cohorts would no longer be joining her for dinner. While our meal was finishing up in the oven I sat Autumn in her highchair to get started on her favorite, corn. While I stepped into the kitchen to check on our main course, Autumn decided that this was an ideal time to start feeding the dogs. When I returned from the kitchen, a total of thirty seconds later, this is what I found.
Handfuls of corn all over the floor, those poor dogs had no idea what they were missing!

Hahahahaha - You'll be finding corn in your home for weeks.
ReplyDeleteLOL! My one dog Maia started paying really close attention to my son the minute she figured out that she can use him to get food. He's six now, and she's been his best friend for about 5 years. Before that, she barely noticed he existed.
