Nate ~ Five Months

Nate,
  My sweet little man. You are growing so fast it is getting hard to keep up! Just like your sister before you, I love watching you grow and learn, but it is bittersweet. Bittersweet because with each little nugget of knowledge you get, you gain a little bit more independence and need your Mama just a little bit less. My fragile newborn is now a bubbly baby. Next month you will be half a year old and I am excited and sad all at the same time.

Milestones: We have started introducing you to solid foods. At first you had no idea what to do with this gooey substance that I was spooning into your mouth. Now? Most times I am lucky to get it in there fast enough. You have really taken a liking to bananas and sweet potatoes and I have thrown out two containers of peaches. Your face - when it comes to peaches - says it all.

An update on the rolling over. You regularly roll from your stomach to your back, but are still working on back to stomach. You still are THIS CLOSE and will probably have it down any day now. You are also getting pretty good at handling the sitting position and prefer to be up looking around than lying down.

Loves: Your toys! You have, in the last couple of weeks, really gotten your grip of things down and love to pick your toys up, usually bringing them to your mouth to chew on.

Hates: Well, we already covered your dislike of peaches! You also do not like to be left alone. If one of us is not within view, you usually start to whine and if that is not enough to prompt one of us to come running, then that "whine" turns into a "wail". You are fully aware that there are things going on and expect to be involved at all times!
