Sixteen Months

 25 June 2011

It is hard to believe that I have been a mother for sixteen months. It feels like time is flying by! Autumn literally surprises me with something new that she has learned everyday. Some of the highlights to date are:

-She can now say hi, bye-bye, Mama, Dada, Meme, Jensen (Jensie), doggy (Bindi and Tinsley), no, baby, pretty, Mickey, Minnie, Elmo (MoMo), juice, goldfish, ball, ready, both, blankey, book, ducky, shoes, bath, Coke, uh-oh and toes.

-She likes to put "My" in front of things when saying them, like, "My Mama", "My Dada"...

-She has said her first full sentences, "Go away Bindi" is the easiest to understand.

-She is obsessed with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. She loves pointing at the balloons in the grocery store that have their pictures on them and calling them by name. Steve and I are so excited to take her to Disney in August, she is going to be beside herself!

-Her favorite snacks are Fruit Loops and Goldfish. She would eat nothing but these two things if we let her.

-She shakes her head "No" to every question you ask her, except if something tastes good. That is the only question that gets a "Yes".

-She is still attached to her blankey. They go everywhere together.

-She loves to be outside. Walking in the yard, collecting rocks, and chasing the dogs are her favorite activities.

-She laughs all the time. Like hard belly laughs.

-She loves to give kisses and will even give you a second one if you ask!

-She loves babies and other kids. She always waves when other children walk by.

-She is very sweet and shares very well. She tries to give baby Gavin her toys to play with.

-She has started walking Steve and I around the house holding just our finger.

-She loves the water, whether in the bathtub or pool and is amazed by rain.

-She can point out where her head, teeth, toes, and eyes are, we are working on ears.

-Speaking of toes, she loves shoes!

She is laid back, but does get frustrated easily (wonder where she gets that from!). She is very loving and likes to cuddle on the couch and watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She is independent and strong-willed and prefers to do things on her own. She is a Daddy's girl and squeals with excitement when she hears the garage door open, the sign that he is home from work.

17 months ago it was just the two of us, now Steve and I cannot remember what life was like before Autumn!
