Saturday was spent at a nearby pumpkin patch. We have several smaller pumpkin patches within our town that we have visited several times in past years, so I was excited to try somewhere new. The weather was perfect, crisp and cool, and the kids loved our windows-down-drive-there.
The first place they all headed, as soon as they piled out of the car, was a tire swing hanging from a large tree. Of all of the things waiting for them inside the farm, a tire swing was too fun to pass up.
Next was a bounce house, horse back riding, getting lost in the corn maze, a hayride with a sweet dog named Lucy and we finished with painting and picking out our pumpkins. The only thing missing was a trip to Starbucks. Mmmmm, Starbucks.
During a conversation with the sweet owners of my new favorite pumpkin patch a little discovery was made. The weekend following Thanksgiving the pumpkin patch turns into a Christmas tree farm. Cutting down our own Christmas tree is something I have always wanted to do and I have already picked out which tree we will be taking home. Now, I just have to figure out how to fit it through the front door.
But that's for another post.
Happy Fall ya'll!
