We like to multitask in this family. So the idea of dying Easter eggs on St. Patrick's Day made total sense. After celebrating as any good partially Irish family would, with corned beef hash with breakfast (that corned beef came into play for lunch and dinner as well) and a
few mimosa for Mama we switched gears from leprechauns to colored eggs.

| Autumn dying Easter eggs last year! |
Autumn was so excited to dye eggs. All afternoon she walked around with the box of dye asking me if it was time yet and squealed with excitement when I was finally able to answer, "Yes! It is time!" Out onto the back porch we went, eggs and dye in hand. It always amazes me what a difference a year makes. Last year when we dyed eggs, Autumn wasn't all that interested. I think she watched one egg get dipped into that smelly vinegar/food coloring mixture, and then she was over it. I'm pretty sure she was content sitting in a chair snacking on Fruit Loops while her Dad and I finished coloring the eggs.
This year was a different story. She chose each color that she wanted and carefully dipped her eggs in. Then, to my amazement she sat and waited. And waited, and waited for her eggs to take on their colored hue. She was so excited when they were finished and she was able to admire her handy work!
Who knew eggs dipped in food coloring could be so entertaining!
